The invention relates to a rod made of a fiber-plastic composite.
Bars considered in the context of the invention serve as planting bars, as marking bars, fence bars, snow bars, (horizontally aligned) locking bars, but also as bars with which tree protection nets or tree protection covers can be attached.
The invention is based on the object of developing a rod of the type mentioned in such a way that it does justice to the areas of application and uses mentioned.
This object is achieved according to the invention with a rod which has the features of claim 1.
Since at least two longitudinal grooves are provided in the rod according to the invention, there is a cross-sectional shape of the rod deviating from the full, for example circular, cross-sectional shape (without recesses), which has the consequence that the rod is flexible with good strength.
Furthermore, the cross-sectional shape of the rod with the grooves deviating from the full cross-section has the advantage that it is toothed with the bottom and thus has a particularly good hold in the bottom.
If the rod is used for fastening tree protection nets or tree protection covers, it holds the tree protection cover or tree protection net particularly well, since these cannot readily twist relative to the bar because of the “non-circular cross-sectional shape of the bar.
Due to the design of the rod according to the invention, this is also particularly suitable for marking forest plants.

The at least two grooves of the rod according to the invention can have different cross-sectional shapes. The side surfaces of the rod can have flat partial surfaces in the area of the grooves, so that there are polygonal cross-sectional shapes of the grooves, such as triangular, quadrangular, rectangular, square or trapezoidal. Alternatively, the side surfaces of the rod in the area of the grooves can be curved surfaces. In this variant, the grooves have a cross-sectional shape that corresponds to a segment, such as a circular segment. Circular segmental cross-sectional shapes of the grooves are preferred within the scope of the invention.
In one embodiment, the rod has a substantially triangular cross-sectional shape, so that there is a particularly good hold in the ground.
Since the rod consists of a fiber-plastic composite, in particular of glass fiber reinforced synthetic resin, such as epoxy resin or polyester resin, it is particularly weather and moisture resistant and also resistant to ultraviolet radiation.
It is also advantageous that the rod in one embodiment has a smooth outer surface so that it can be easily inserted into the ground and there is no risk of injury to plants by the rod.
Since the rod according to the invention consists of a fiber-plastic composite, it is easily reusable and also UV-stable.
The rod according to the invention can be pressed into the ground by hand on a light floor. If necessary, a hammer can be used to drive the rod in when pushing the rod into the ground.

A rod 1 according to the invention consists of a fiber-plastic composite, fibers being preferably glass fibers and the plastic being, for example, an epoxy resin or a polyester resin.
The rod 1 has at least two, in the example three grooves 3, so that there are concave side surfaces 5 of the rod 1.
The edges 4 of the rod 1 lying between the side surfaces 5 formed by the grooves 3 are convexly curved, in particular curved in a circular section, so that sharp edges 4 of the rod 1 are avoided.
The side surfaces 5 of the rod 1, which are concavely curved, in particular have a cross-sectional shape that correspond to circular segments.
As shown in the illustration of FIG. 2, the rod 1 according to the invention in a preferred embodiment has a cross-sectional shape which essentially corresponds to a three-pointed star. It is preferred that the cross-sectional shape corresponds to a triangle, preferably an equilateral triangle, with concave side faces 5.
Although in a preferred embodiment the grooves 3 are continuous over the entire length of the rod 1, an embodiment is also considered in which individual or all grooves 3 are interrupted, so that areas of the rod 1 are present without grooves 3, in which the side surfaces 5 are not concave (“full cross-sectional shape).
In the application example shown in Fig. 3, in which the rod 1 according to the invention is used to fix a plant cover 6, the rod 1 is inserted through a tab 7 of the plant cover 6. It can be seen that the rod 1, because of its essentially triangular cross-sectional shape, is arranged in the tab 7 in such a way that one edge 4 abuts the tab 7, the other two edges 4 of the rod 1 abutting the wall of the plant cover 6. In Fig. 3 the plant cover 6 is shown open for clarity.
The end faces 2 of the rod 1 are preferably convexly curved, that is to say cambered, and merge into the grooves 3 and the edges 4 with roundings. So injuries to the plant when using the rod 1 or injuries to the user of the rod 1 when hammering or pressing the same into the ground are avoided.
The rod 1 can have different lengths, for example it can have a length of 130 cm or 150 cm. The dimension A (FIG. 2) can be of different sizes and can be, for example, 9 mm, 12 mm or 15 mm.
A further advantage of the rod 1 according to the invention with its side surfaces 5 concave by grooves 3 is that it can be packed in a space-saving manner for shipping, since the edges 4 of the rods 1 can engage in grooves 3 of adjacent rods 1.
